Born in Wuhan. CoCo was the third and youngest child in the family. Shortly after she was born, the whole family moved to Hong Kong.
When CoCo was 9, the whole family moved to San Francisco.

Participated in and won the 'Miss Teen Chinatown' pageant in San Francisco.

Participated in the 12th TVB New Talent Singing Awards in Hong Kong, debuting with distinction as the first runner-up.

Signed with Taiwan's Fancy Pie Records and released her debut Mandarin album 'Love from Now On' on June 15, introducing R&B vocals to Mandarin music.

Held her first major solo concert, 'You Are in My Heart,' at the Taipei World Trade Center. After her contract with Fancy Pie Records expired, she returned to California to attend the University of California, Irvine (UCI) as a biology major. One of her dreams was to become a doctor like her mother.

Signed with Sony Music Taiwan. Returned to Taiwan to release her first album with Sony Music, the self-titled album 'CoCo Lee'.
